Run StreamGen on your own network
Available soon. Running StreamGen on your own servers opens shortly after the relaunch. Get in touch to be first, or start today in your Snowflake account or on Uppcoder: where it runs.
StreamGen runs as one container next to a PostgreSQL database. Run it on your own servers, next to your data, inside your own security perimeter. The licence is the same as when it runs on Uppcoder.
What you need
- A Linux server that runs containers (Docker, Docker Swarm or Kubernetes).
- PostgreSQL (version 17 is what we test on): one database and one role that owns it. No extensions or superuser rights.
- A StreamGen licence key.
- Your Snowflake account, to connect once StreamGen is running.
- Optional: your own single sign-on (any OIDC provider), so your people sign in with their work accounts.
What you get
- The StreamGen container image, and every update while your licence is active.
- One process serving the app and its API on port 8000, with a health check.
- Your apps’ state in PostgreSQL and one data volume; secrets read from files, never from the environment.
- Database migrations that run by themselves on every start.
How installing works
- Buy a licence. You receive your licence key and the credentials to pull the StreamGen image.
- Create the PostgreSQL database and role.
- Start the container with your database address, your licence key and two generated secrets, given as files.
- Open StreamGen in your browser, sign in, and connect your Snowflake account.
- To update, pull the new version and restart. Every version has its own tag, so going back is one step.
The full installation guide, with a ready compose file, comes with your licence.
